In an 18th century building, surrounded by a tree-filled environment, the special new Maison Guigal site was inaugurated a few weeks ago.
Throughout the nearly 550 square metres of the Caveau du Château Guigal, visitors can discover the oenological history of the vineyards and winemakers of the Rhône Valley, thanks to a wine museum but also a shop and tasting room.
“It goes all the way back to the Ancient Greeks. We also wanted to establish the connection between the history of the wine region and vineyard tools, as well as the ancestral tools used by coopers and more…” (Philippe Guigal)
Launched in 2018, the project to create this oenological site was designed by the Lyon-based architectural firm Virot. Maison Rouveure Marquez is proud to have participated in the creation of this prestigious place, open to the general public, with the production and installation of:
- Vaulted ceilings and Mono acoustic ceilings
- Contemporary lighting gorges
- Staircase spandrels made of fibrous plaster
- Window frames.
Also worth a look is the exhibition space at the Guigal museum.
